Âé¶¹´«Ã½ sits in the middle of one of the world's most significant ports with diverse maritime interests. Recognizing this special opportunity, the faculty researchers in the University are creating a Consortium for Maritime Research. The goal of the Consortium for Maritime Research is to facilitate research in all areas related to the maritime at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ and the Hampton Roads region.

Âé¶¹´«Ã½ has a joint program with Eastern Virginia Medical School designed to encourage outstanding and highly qualified students to receive a B.S. from Âé¶¹´«Ã½ and a M.D. from Eastern Virginia Medical School. A student can choose any of the undergraduate programs available at Âé¶¹´«Ã½, including any in engineering or engineering technology.
