Â鶹´«Ã½ and EVMS hosted a celebration at Hilton Norfolk The Main on June 7 to commemorate the integration of EVMS into Â鶹´«Ã½. In front of nearly 1,000 guests from both campuses and the broader community, a historic announcement was made regarding a generous $20 million gift from Dennis and Jan Ellmer to provide scholarships for students pursuing health sciences degrees at Â鶹´«Ã½.

Day One integration date is now targeted for July 1, 2024.

Today, Governor Glenn Youngkin shared his proposed budget amendments for the 2023-2024 biennium, which includes a framework and timeline for the integration of Eastern Virginia Medical School and Â鶹´«Ã½.

As part of a comprehensive, on-going effort to establish an academic health sciences center with Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) in partnership with Sentara Healthcare, I am pleased to share that Alicia Monroe, M.D. has been selected to serve as Â鶹´«Ã½'s Chief Integration Officer and Senior Advisor to the President.
